Client Services Coordinator

Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides freshly prepared meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, diabetes, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of sixty employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.

We seek a Client Services Coordinator to work with our clients and referral partners. Specifically, the Client Services Coordinator will:

  • Assist clients and case managers with service eligibility compliance;
  • Maintain accurate client records, including case notes and individual service timelines;
  • Review client files, and follow-up with clients who are missing required paperwork;
  • Cultivate and steward relations with community referral organizations;
  • Develop, update, and disseminate information materials to stakeholders;
  • Answer public inquiries regarding service eligibility and the intake process;
  • Conduct “First Day” orientations in client homes; and
  • Assist with training and coaching of AmeriCorps members assigned to Food & Friends.

This is an outstanding opportunity to gain entry-level experience in social services and nonprofit management.

The successful candidate will have a BA/BS and at least one year of relevant work experience, and a valid driver’s license. Additional requirements include strong written and verbal communications skills, superb attention to detail, ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines, excellent customer service skills, ability to comply with HIPAA client confidentiality standards, and an appreciation for diversity. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test.
