Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored prepared meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of sixty employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple jurisdictions across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.
We seek an On-Call Delivery Driver to work occasionally during periods of low staffing or unusually heavy workloads. With an on-call status, there is no guaranteed number of hours, and scheduling is at the mutual convenience of Food & Friends and on-call staff.

Requirements include a driver’s license (CDL not required) and good driving record, working knowledge of traffic and highway laws and regulations, ability to lift up to 30 lbs., familiarity with the Washington region, good people skills, and an appreciation for diversity. Prior professional driving experience strongly preferred. Must be able and willing to drive in a variety of weather conditions, including snow and ice. Job offer contingent upon a pre-employment drug test.
