Part-Time Chef

Founded in 1988, Food & Friends provides medically-tailored prepared meals, nutrition support, and friendship to people living with AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of sixty employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and multiple jurisdictions across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.

We seek a Part-Time Chef to work Mondays from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and other days as needed during periods of low staffing or unusually heavy workloads. The Part-Time Chef will work alongside our regular culinary team and volunteers preparing a variety of side dishes, entrees, and baked goods. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a flexible schedule.

Requirements include at least one year of relevant professional experience, or a degree from a culinary school. Additionally, the Part-Time Chef must have good communication skills, a willingness to work with volunteers, and an appreciation for diversity. Job offer contingent upon a pre-employment drug test.

The Part-Time Chef will make a good hourly wage, and contribute to Food & Friends’ charitable mission of helping neighbors in need. Food & Friends is Metro accessible and offers free parking.
