Prospect Researcher (Temp/Contract)

Food & Friends provides medically tailored meals, nutrition counseling, and friendship to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of sixty employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and several counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.

We seek a Prospect Researcher to fulfill a temporary need for research services in our Development Department. Utilizing pre-screened prospects, the Prospect Researcher will:

• Perform focused research regarding prospective and existing donors to capture and assess factors including wealth, capacity, and donor interest areas by utilizing Internet and subscription research databases and resources to locate, analyze, interpret and organize actionable information regarding financial capacity and propensity.
• Determine appropriate content including biographical and business information, financial assets, areas of interest and philanthropic support, and community interests.
• Synthesize research into organized reports to be utilized by the Major Gifts Team, weekly.
• Maintain guidelines and policies for accurate and ethical management of donor and prospect information.

This contract for this position will offer approximately 65 hours of work across eight weeks.

The successful candidate will have experience with major donor prospect research and an ability to provide deliverables according to deadlines. All work may be completed remotely.
