Our team of registered dietitians helps our neighbors living with serious illnesses manage their symptoms and side effects through nutrition while enjoying what they eat. We see a lot of misinformation, so we’ve started a new series to bust nutrition myths. For example, how much protein do you actually need? Are food dyes safe to eat? Find out in our new series, which will be posted on our social media channels every month. What to expect from us as Nutrition Myth Busters:
- Accurate information based on data, not trends
- A focus on balance
- No food stigma, guilt, or shame
- Realistic recommendations, knowing people have limited time, energy, and budget
About Our Nutrition Services Team
Our community dietitians provide comprehensive nutrition assessments, care plans, counseling, and education. They work with our professional chefs to craft menus for 11 different meal plans, including dialysis-friendly, vegetarian, and low-lactose meals, that are medically tailored, tasty, and help people feel better. 90% of Food & Friends clients surveyed said their health has improved, and 80% said our nutrition team helped them make healthy food choices they enjoy.
In 2025, Nutrition Services conducted nearly 1,500 nutrition assessments and counseling sessions.
