
Meet our New Team Members!
Food & Friends is proud to introduce two new additions to the Client Services Team. A Washington, DC native, Sophie graduated from Colgate University where she studied history. She is stepping into the role of Client Services Coordinator. From Severn, Maryland, Zack graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, and studied Public Policy He joined us this Summer as the new Client Services Advocate.
Both Sophie and Zack bring unique talents and interests to the team. In her free time, Sophie enjoys reading, yoga, and spending time with her friends. Zack enjoys skateboarding, getting outside, and going to live music shows when he’s not at Food & Friends.
We’re excited to have Sophie and Zack on board, and they’re equally enthusiastic to engage with and serve our clients. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to them as they have become a part of the Food & Friends family!

Inclement Weather Policy
At Food & Friends, our commitment to our clients requires that we keep our doors open regardless of weather conditions. As a result, we do not typically close during inclement weather. Now that we are entering the winter season, we need to keep in mind that inclement weather is a possibility and could make delivering meals difficult for our drivers. Food & Friends will make every effort to deliver meals to clients in the delivery schedule of 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. However, during wintery weather there may be times when our drivers are unable to reach clients due to slippery or hazardous road conditions. We may need to change your delivery day unexpectedly. We will make every effort to notify you of delivery changes with reasonable notice. We will text, email and post messages on our website and delivery line voicemail (202-269-6820).

We’re thrilled to introduce our new Client Facebook Group! This space is all about connecting with our Client Services Team, Registered Dietitians, and fellow clients. As a member of this group, you will find answers to common questions, engage with staff and peers, and stay updated on delivery changes and upcoming events. Reminders!
- Updated Menus: You can access our latest menus for both Home Delivered Meals and Groceries-To-Go on our website. Click HERE to view them.
- Yellow Forms: If you need to reference or submit any of the yellow forms (Client Agreement, Release of Information, Acknowledgement of our Privacy Practices), you can find them HERE.
- Nutrition Services Guidance: Remember, for optimal freshness, consume your meals within 3 days once they’re thawed or in the refrigerator. If they are frozen, please follow the “Use by” date on the food label.
- Recertification: If you have a recertification deadline approaching, don’t hesitate to reach out to Mira, our Recertification Coordinator, at 202-269-6847. If you need to reference or submit recertification paperwork, you can find it HERE.

We’re excited to introduce text reminders: a new and convenient way to stay updated on your delivery schedule! Expect a text notification before your delivery day with a secure link. Clicking on this link will lead you to a message with useful delivery information and other updates. It’s one way we’re working to make your experience even smoother!
