WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 4, 2024) – Food & Friends, a leading Washington, D.C. nonprofit organization that prepares and home delivers medically tailored meals to individuals living with life-challenging illnesses, is proud to announce the appointment of Joe Maloney to its Board of Directors. Maloney brings a wealth of experience in strategic communications and public affairs, further strengthening Food & Friends’ commitment to expanding access to medically tailored nutrition services as the region’s leading non-profit for the food is medicine movement.
Maloney currently serves as Senior Vice President, Strategic Communications at the American Gaming Association, where he leads the association’s strategic communications, research, marketing, and public affairs campaigns. He has an established record of success spearheading key policy and corporate initiatives, including the bipartisan introduction in the U.S. Congress of H.R. 4984, the D.C. Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium Campus Revitalization Act, as well as policy initiatives in Maryland and Virginia.

In addition to welcoming Maloney, Food & Friends is pleased to celebrate the recent achievements of three of our esteemed board members:
- Jacqueline Bowens, President of the DC Hospital Association, was named to the 2024 class of 25 Women Who Mean Business by the Washington Business Journal. Bowens is recognized for her extraordinary leadership in advancing the healthcare industry, with a focus on mitigating bias and ensuring equal access to care.
- Bryan O. Buckley, DrPH, MPH, MBA recently joined CareFirst BlueCross Blue Shield as Head of Public Health. Buckley is also an Assistant Professor in Medicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and previously held the role of Director, Health Equity Initiatives at the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
- Jennifer Trock, Partner at Baker McKenzie, was named a winner of the ALM 2024 Women, Influence and Power in Law Awards in the Talent Managment category. Jennifer was honored for her unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of women in the legal industry. Her leadership and vision are key in fostering diverse and inclusive teams.
