On April 3, 2025, we honored our cherished community of supporters at the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner and Awards Ceremony. To celebrate, we welcomed nearly 150 members of our volunteer team to Food & Friends for a night of food and drink, raffles, prizes, and a celebration of success.
Guests heard from Executive Director Carrie Stoltzfus and Director of Volunteer Services Katrina Mathis, who emphasized the critical role our volunteers play in providing essential Food is Medicine services to our seriously ill neighbors.
In 2024, our volunteer community of 4,358 individuals and 238 groups gave 71,429 hours of their time to Food & Friends – the equivalent of 34 full-time employees. On an average day, 91 volunteers are hard at work packaging, preparing, and delivering over 5,000 medically tailored meals. Without the diligent efforts of volunteers, our vital work would simply not be possible.
