How to Register for Thanksgiving

 A background check is required for all volunteers over the age of 18. Therefore all Thanksgiving volunteer opportunities are “reserved” for volunteers with an existing background check on file.

There are still plenty of volunteer opportunities available this Thanksgiving. We are in particular need of food prep volunteers throughout the month of November and delivery drivers on Thanksgiving Day. Follow the steps below to get started:

Already a Food & Friends Volunteer?

If you are an existing volunteer and you think you may already have a background check on file, simply click the signup button below to get started. Make sure you are signed into your volunteer account first, otherwise all available events will say “reserved.”

Welcome! The first step is to complete your background check. After submitting that, create a volunteer account using the signup link below. Please click the buttons below to get started.

Be sure to review the event descriptions for age limits and location of the activity. When your background check clears, in 3-5 business days, you will be able to log into your volunteer account and sign up for all available Thanksgiving opportunities. If an event says “full” it means that shift is currently at capacity. If it says “reserved” make sure you are signed into your account and have submitted a background check.

Looking for Group or Family Opportunities?

Thanksgiving opportunities are first-come, first-served. If you would like to volunteer as a family over the Thanksgiving time period, each individual volunteer MUST complete a background check and register separately for the event. However, in delivery, we ask that only the driver registers for the shift as each registration = 1 car. This is the best way for families to volunteer together.
