Chaikin, Sherman, Cammarata & Siegel personal injury attorneys recently visited Food & Friends to tour its state-of-the-art facility and donate $5,000 to help provide nutritious meals to those battling serious illnesses.
Food & Friends clients are particularly vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many have diseases, such as HIV/AIDS, diabetes, heart failure, and renal and lung disease, which put them at a higher risk of contracting the virus. The donation from Chaikin Sherman will help support the nonprofit organization’s vital services, including home-delivered meals, Groceries-to-Go and nutrition counseling.
“Many of the communities we serve are feeling the impact of this devastating pandemic because they don’t have access to nutritious and affordable food or adequate health care,” said Abigail Seiler, Communications Director. “We appreciate Chaikin Sherman’s generosity, partnership and support of this underserved community.”
The donation is part of the law firm’s “My COVID Hero” photo and video campaign to highlight COVID heroes and support local nonprofits providing essential services and care throughout the pandemic.
“Food & Friends has done an incredible job of preparing and packaging life-sustaining meals and delivering them to clients who have been impacted by the pandemic,” said Joseph Cammarata, firm partner. “This campaign was a way for us to thank them for making a positive difference and to bring more awareness to the critical work they do. We are happy to contribute to their efforts and encourage others to do the same.”
