At our 33rd Annual Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction on June 8th, 850 members of our caring community gathered together at the Marriott Marquis DC to support our neighbors living with serious illnesses and their families. Together, we raised $940,000 for our Medically Tailored Meal program, ensuring our neighbors with life-challenging illnesses can continue to receive free, home-delivered meals and groceries, as well as nutrition counseling.

There’s a reason Chef’s Best has been named the Best Charity Event in DC. Over 30 of the top chefs and mixologists in the area donated their time and skills, crafting gourmet tastings that truly wowed. Supporters won fabulous prizes in our raffle and auctions, including dream getaways in Scotland, Peru, and Bali. Caring community members from around the DMV mingled and bonded over delicious food and drink and a meaningful cause.

We also shared the impact our community has for neighbors like Howard and Kadija, providing a lifeline during their cancer journeys, and for thousands of other individuals with life-challenging illnesses.

AN EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT
For the first time, Food & Friends CEO Carrie Stoltzfus announced publicly an exciting new chapter: our $30 million Nourish Together: Building a Healthy Community campaign, which will allow us to double our meal production and the number of clients served over the next decade. We currently prepare 2.2 million medically tailored meals a year and our 21-year-old facility is at capacity. This campaign is about more than a building. It is about strengthening our ability to care for our neighbors in need today and for generations to come.

Chef’s Best would not have been such a success without our sponsors and restaurant partners:
